12th “Lemesos International Documentary Festival”

With a wide range of documentary films “Lemesos International Documentary Festival” opens its gates from the 1st to the 8th of August, for 12th consecutive years, showcasing documentaries from all over the world, with a diverse programme of more than 20 multidimensional screenings with social, economic, war and contemporary issues, documentaries for children, music, dance and many more. The documentary feature films, proposes a new approach to subjects and values that influence the quality of everyday life, both in a local and a global context and proves that documentary production worldwide has expanded so much in genre, creativity and narrative as reality becoming the inspiration for the pressing issues emerging in each film. All of these films are Cyprus premieres.

The Lemesos International Documentary Festival is part of Moving Docs, a new EDN initiative supported by Creative Europe, founded for the joint distribution of documentaries across Europe.

The aim of the Lemesos International Documentary Festival is not only to present and inform on important life issues, but rather to encourage a creative dialogue and hopefully find solutions and improve lives.

The Lemesos International Documentary Festival became an institution, because of the quality of its productions, the wide range of subjects, the international involvement and the professionalism of its organizers. The Festival, is expected every year with a great anticipation from many local supporters, but also from people who visit the island, especially for the festival.

The Festival programme includes film screenings, live music, DJ sets, drinks & snacks, discussions, workshops for professionals and Q & A sessions with the hosted filmmakers and a great week out, in one of the most beautiful areas of Limassol.
