Opening of the Pithari Festival

The Opening of the Pithari Festival takes place on the 11th of November this year. I do love Cyprus festivals. Don’t you?

It is something that Greek Cypriots are very good at organising. They create them for just about every kind of food and drink imaginable: Strawberries, Cherries, Potatoes, Palouzes, Wine, Zivania, to name but a few.

My favourite of them all, is the “Opening of the Pithari” festival in Koilani. I went last year and wrote about it in Cyprus Alive. It was such fun! Follow this link to get the flavour of it.

As many of you know, As well as being a writer, I organise Wine Tours, both in Cyprus and abroad. Because Koilani is rather difficult to reach for people living in my area (the Protaras/Ayia Napa part of the island), I plan a special one day coach trip to enable people to enjoy this fabulous festival.
