Cyprus Alive spoke with Mr. Haris, owner of Kykkos Byzantio restaurant. Read the interview below to learn more about this wonderful cafe-restaurant.

1. Mr. Haris, how long has the Kykkos Byzantio Restaurant been in operation?
For many years, we were located in the village of Prodromos, a popular mountain destination for both Cypriots and tourists. However, we recently closed that location and, as of May 2024, have moved to Kykkos, all while maintaining the same philosophy.

2. What dishes can we enjoy at your restaurant?
We serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Every day, we offer a buffet featuring a variety of beloved traditional Cypriot dishes, including meatballs, souvla, moussaka, pastitsio, kleftiko, and afelia.

We also provide coffee, drinks, and a selection of sweets such as kadaifi, baklava, cakes, and more.

During the winter, our buffet is available on weekends, while on weekdays, guests can choose from an à la carte menu.

3. Where can we find Kykkos Byzantio restaurant?
We are located at Kykkos Monastery, an ideal spot for those visiting the monastery on a pilgrimage to the Virgin Mary or for those enjoying a trip to the mountains.

4. What makes Kykkos Byzantio restaurant stand out?
As I mentioned before, our location is perfect for combining a visit to Kykkos Monastery with a trip to the mountains.

Additionally, our restaurant offers a unique environment and atmosphere. Surrounded by nature, guests can enjoy their meals and coffee in a peaceful setting with beautiful views.

When it comes to our food, we maintain the same philosophy and passion for Cypriot cuisine. All our dishes are fresh, home-made, and full of flavour.

With over 30 years of experience in the food service industry, I understand the demands of the job very well. Our goal is to provide our visitors with the best possible experience while showcasing authentic Cypriot flavours.
