300,000 Trees in Nicosia, 4,722 trees have been planted

from 29 September 2019 – 18 January 2020

 “300,000 Trees in Nicosia” is a citizen’s initiative aiming at putting pressure on, and mobilising, local authorities, the Forestry Department, Universities and other stakeholders to facilitate a massive tree planting project. The planting project started end of September 2019 and until January 2020, managed to plant 4722 trees in various locations in Nicosia, suitable for Cyprus' ecosystem. 

The planting season is slowly coming to the end, but the vision to plant 300,000 Trees in Nicosia remains and will continue with the same excitement in the next planting season, therefore dedicated volunteers are needed to carry on the project. 

"300,000 Trees in Nicosia" is looking for dedicated volunteers from all backgrounds which are ready to give up some of their free time in order to help with the project for the upcoming season. The aim is to move forward faster and better towards a positive social and environmental change. 

"300,000 Trees in Nicosia", is organising a lot of events for February, the last planting season, and everyone is invited to take part.

"300,000 Trees in Nicosia" will continue with various workshops about tree plantations, seed balls, bees, herbs and others, through the year.
