Avoid getting Coronavirus!
8 Ways to Strengthen Your Immune System
In order to avoid getting Coronavirus, there are the known ways of course, but a good diet helps a lot. Clinical nutritionist Elina Agastinioti suggests the basic ingredients that will help you avoid a flu and the Coronavirus!
Here are 8 ways to boost your immune system:
- Herbs and spices.
Ginger, garlic, onions, oregano, rosemary and thyme.
- Orange foods
Eat more orange foods such as carrots, sweet potatoes, pumpkins as they are rich in carotene. B-carotene has been shown to protect lung function and act as a defence of the body. B-carotene is also converted to vitamin A, which is essential for the immune system.
- Vitamin C
Foods rich in vitamin C are citrus fruits, red peppers, broccoli and kiwi. Research has shown that consuming vitamin C can help fight various diseases.
- Zinc
Zinc tends to be lower in older people, and some vegetarians as well as vegans, so you can get zinc from dietary supplements containing zinc picolinate, which has been shown to absorb better.
- The elderly syrup
Elderly syrup can protect against influenza and is also used to treat respiratory tract infections.
- Vitamin D
Vitamin D helps to fight respiratory tract infections. Vitamin D can be obtained from the sun but is also found in foods such as mushrooms, some fish and eggs.
- Mushrooms
Mushrooms also give food to the active intestinal bacteria that help prevent infection.
8. Limit alcohol, sugar and processed foods
Not only eating these foods increases your risk of suppressing the immune system but we also usually consume them in place of foods that contain more nutrients.
