A European Dilemma
The likely scenario of an armed conflict at Kuznica crossing between Belarus and Poland is more likely than unlikely. At loggerheads, hundreds of Polish troops are assembled to prevent the illegal migrants from entering Poland. At the same time, the Belarusian troops make sure the multitudes don’t remain in Belarus. Trapped in no man’s land, the asylum seekers are determined to reach the promised land of milk and honey, the European Union!

Is this mass refugee dumping an orchestrated incursion and if so, who is behind it all? Or is it simply a spontaneous desperate act by the poor seeking a better way of life and better living conditions? The ugly phenomenon of criss-crossing countries on foot by young men and women—predominately from Muslim countries—pose serious questions; is this mobilization financed by dark forces to destabilize western societies in Europe? The truth is very illusive indeed!

Evidently, migrants pay between €4.000 and as much as €10.000 to organized smugglers for entering illegally into EU as economic migrants or as refugees. This raises serious questions as to how a twelve-year-old or thousands of young men and women get such cash to pay human smugglers! Yet, they don’t wish to apply for asylum in Arab rich countries like Saudi Arabia and other safe Islamic destinations!

Muammar al-Gaddafi, the deposed Libya’s Leader foresaw the systematic “dumping of refugees” in Europe years ago. He stated: ‘there are signs that Allah will grant victory to Islam in Europe without sword, without guns and without conquests. We don’t need terrorists, we don’t need homicidal bombers the 50+ million Muslims in Europe will turn it into a Muslim continent through fertility rate and demographic engineering.’  His prophetic warnings were ignored and the EU failed to take him seriously!

Today, EU member-states are openly accusing each other for directing thousands of migrants to their borders. What Schengen—a borderless Europe—has done, it has triggered the opening of Pandora’s box for illegal migration into Europe. The EU common policy promising, “freedom, security and justice for refugees who legitimately seek protection in the Union” has proven to be a shambles.

At the centre of the Poland-Belarus crisis there are none other than President Alexander Lukashenko of Belarus and his close friend, Sultan Erdogan of Turkey. They both have decided to retaliate against EU sanctions and chosen refugee dumping as a means of revenge.

The result of their actions meant that today long trails of people trek on foot to reach the Kuznica crossing while others are deliberately flown and bussed to the Polish-Belarusian border. Upon arrival, thousands of rootless refugees are entrapped—which Lukashenko does not much care about, and neither Erdogan! Twenty thousand are now stranded in the midst of snow and they are used in a game of ping-pong that serves the dictators’ political agenda.

Violent clashes between the refugees and the authorities have become a daily international spectacle where innocent children are forced to witness the ugly brawls under freezing weather conditions. Shoved and brushed by soldiers against skin-tearing barbed wire, it’s as if human lives were disposable at will and without repercussions.

The Cyprus dilemma
One country that faces the challenging signs of refugee dumping by air, land and sea is Cyprus! The tide of hundreds of illegal migrants attempting to enter the Republic as a gateway to the EU is not by co-incidence but rather a cunning plan that suits Erdogan’s Neo-Ottoman ambitions.

If the current trend does not come to an end, the Hellenic character of the island faces real threats. With less than 700,000 Greek nationals living on the island, (out of 1.2 million) the demographic threat poses risks never encountered before. Since 2002, Cyprus has received over 93,000 asylum applications; 7,036 in 2020 and so far this year 10,868, of which 9,270 were smuggled across the Green Line illegally - Gov. statistics. This makes Cyprus the leading asylum destination and receiving country per capita among all the EU Member States.

Adding to the quandary, the official fertility rate of Cyprus in 2021 has fallen to 1.31 births per woman and well short from 2.1, the measurement rate required to maintain the population growth. In comparison to the high Muslim fertility rate, the ethnic dilemma in Cyprus becomes worrisome.

Refugee dumping in the last 5 years has become problematic. Today, there are over 40,000 illegal migrants sheltered in Cyprus seeking asylum. According to officials, it would take years to clear the backlog of applications despite the government’s efforts to speed up the process. Meanwhile the Muslim migrant population in waiting is growing by the day!

Most illegals use the Turkish occupied north as a point of entry and pay smugglers as much as €6,000 each for an illegal passage into the Republic. Cyprus has become a hot destination for a network of human traffickers promising a gateway into central Europe. Meanwhile, over 2,500 asylum seekers are given lodgings and support at the overcrowded Pournara refugee centre. Most have been there for months pending their application, while thousands of others are given accommodation elsewhere across the island.

Anger in communities
The Council Leader of Kokkonotrimithia next to Pournara is demanding the end of the growing problems caused by unruly crowds of asylum seekers in his municipality. The mounting criminalities, drug pushing and brawls have become a common occurrence but his biggest concern is the erosion of the local way of life and social transformation! Consequently, the women are scared to walk freely as before Purnara opened its gates and no longer feel as safe in their own community. He is furious about the wandering refugee drifters and warned that the locals would defend their rights if the government does not end the current social disorder.

On the other side of Cyprus, the village of Droushia in Akamas is facing a similar situation. It is struggling to deal with the flow of ethnic migrants dumped there by the government. Their tolerance has been tested to its limits on learning that Muslim migrant dwellers are demanding a mosque in their village, which has infuriated the locals. Meanwhile, females in the village are afraid to walk during the night with so many young asylum seekers loitering about in the darkly lit village alleyways.

At Chlorakas things are not much different! The district is struggling to deal with the record amount of refugee dumping on their doorstep. The ghetto-style conditions and the growing number of asylum seekers in the community have provoked Mr Phedon Phedonas, the Mayor of Paphos to act. He has publicly accused the government and migration authorities of incompetence but also the police for turning a blind eye to the criminal activities of the refugees in his city. He’s been vociferous against the rising robberies, stabbings and gang wars between migrants and criminals that now control the supply chain of human trafficking. He was equally vociferous by accusing local crooked solicitors that have become part of the problem by exploiting the system. Offering backhanders, as “introduction fees” to illegals, forging papers and arranging for migrant marriage scams are just a sample of his accusations.

Similar situations are encountered across the country but in Palea Yitonia and city-centre of Nicosia, it’s much worse. Blatant prostitution in sordid brothels are set up to service the roaming young migrants and others; women trafficked for sex in sleazy bars, begging and drug pushing has transformed the once-proud Hellenic city-centre into a nocturnal third-world seedy zone! Migrant squatters occupy empty buildings and refuse to move out and turning them into no-go squalid areas. In the night, the quaint narrow streets of Nicosia are transformed into a mecca of vagrants. Never in the history of Cyprus have such conditions ever existed to plague the capital with the loss of its Cypriot culture by the invasion of ethnic migrants.

The challenge 
The high numbers of refugees seen wandering throughout the country offers scope for a government policy rethink! Citizens’ dismay towards the illegals is not racist-motivated but is a matter of protecting one’s own cultural identity and heritage. The Cypriot culture is at stake if it’s to survive the refugee onslaught or not!Greek Cypriots in fact have never been xenophobic or racists and they certainly understand the ugliness of becoming refugees in their own country. The 220.000 homeless Greek refugees and victims of Turkey’s 1974 military invasion are prime evidence of that! One difference—Greek refugees at the time were a proud people and did not attempt to enter illegally in other countries expecting handouts!

Turkey’s two-pronged attack on Cyprus through (a) demographic engineering and (b) Muslim refugee dumping has now become a grim reality! Numbers describe situations much better than words and today’s figures are so alarming that if they are not averted, they could permanently transform the Hellenic character of the island in the next 4-5 decades.  Historically that’s not a long time!

In consideration, there are over 40,000 Turkish occupational troops in Cyprus; over 350,000 imported Turkish settlers and growing; 87,600 Turkish Cypriots; 40,000 asylum seekers—mostly young males under the age of 25—and hundreds of new arrivals each passing day! Add to the equation, Erdogan’s Pan-Turkic Islamism support of all Muslims in Cyprus to aim for 3-5 births per family cannot be ignored! The high fertility-rate of Muslim births will ensure the demographic character of the island will be transformed forever.

The Minister of the Interior Mr Nicos Nouris, concerned about the current demographic dangers that threaten the island’s Hellenic identity, has been outspoken about the dangers of Turkey’s Muslim refugee-dumping assault.

His government is to seek the European Commission’s permission to suspend the asylum applications from those “refugees and asylum seekers” entering the country illegally through the occupied area or by sea and air. Those arriving by air are mostly pseudo-students using trickery to apply for asylum.

Dealing with the demographic dilemma facing the nation, the Minister is encouraging Greek families by offering financial incentives for multiple childbirths! Whether his plan will succeed or not is another matter; only time would tell!

Meanwhile, Cyprus is facing real demographic dangers like never before…
