Relax on the Beach!
Sun, beach and tanning. Τhe best combination!
Limassol's Beaches are a little bit different than the rest of the Island's beaches, due to having gray sand rather than golden brown, like Famagusta's for example. However, don't allow that to fool you.
Cyprus beaches have been awarded the blue flag recognition for meeting the strict hygienic as well as safety rules and regulations of FEE (Foundation for Enviromental Education), so there is no mistaking its cleanliness. With around 10 beaches scattered to the east, west and south of Limassol, its an ideal place for any swimmers or tanners to indulge and visit.
There have been a total of 17 flags given in Limassol through the international program run by CYMEPA in Cyprus. The community of Agios Tychonas has received 7 flags, the Limassol Municipality and Pentakomos received 2 flags and 1 flag was given to the Limassol Marina, Parekklissia, Germasogia for Dassoudi, Agios Athanasios, Episkopi and Pissouri.
The "Blue Flag" started as a program in the 1980s. Today it is a symbol of quality in more than 50 countries and the recognition of every coast and marina is highly honorable.
