Yellow Warning
The first 40 degrees of the year today
It is expected to hit the 40s for the first time this year with the Met Office issuing a yellow heat warning. The warning is in effect from 12:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m.
More specifically, a warm air will affect the area. Today the weather will be mostly clear. Winds will initially be variable, light 3 Beaufort and will become by afternoon mainly from south-west to north-west, light to moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be somewhat rough. The temperature will rise to 40 degrees inland, around 34 on the southern and eastern coasts, around 31 on the rest of the coast and 30 degrees in the higher mountains.
In the evening the weather will be mostly sunny. Winds will blow north-west to north-east and on the northern coast south-east, a weak 3 Beaufort. The sea will be calm to a little rough. The temperature will drop to around 22 degrees in the interior and the coasts and to 20 degrees in the higher mountains.
The weather will be clear and warm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. The temperature will gradually rise to be well above climate averages.
