Cup Up, Cyprus! Let’s Make Sustainability the New Trend!

Did you know that Cyprus ranks 15th worldwide in coffee consumption, with each of us consuming more than 13 kilograms of coffee per year? 

However, nearly all the coffee we enjoy is served in single-use cups, contributing to the growing waste management problem on our island.

Every day, at least 10,000 single-use cups end up in the trash—most of which contain plastic, harming both the environment and our health. What’s worse? Single-use cups are often used even for customers enjoying their coffee inside cafés! Why? Perhaps it’s about convenience or maybe just a matter of habit.

But you can make a difference! 

Join BringYourCup, an inspiring initiative by the project Keep Our Sand and Sea Plastic Free! Through this campaign, you can carry your own reusable cup and become part of the solution. Imagine the change we can create if more people choose reusable cups instead of ones destined for the trash.
