Ayia Napa Mayor welcomes 16 Blue Flag flags for municipality’s beaches
Sixteen Ayia Napa beaches have been awarded Blue Flags or had their Blue Flag status renewed, having met all the provisions of the relevant European directive on the quality of marine waters and a series of provisions that ensure the safety of bathers and the protection of the environment.
Ayia Napa Mayor Christos Zannettou welcomed the development, noting "the success of obtaining 16 Blue Flags is due to all our visitors, Cypriots and foreigners, who with their long-term support implement quality actions and projects, as well as due to the upgrading the Ayia Napa’s services, an effort that gives added value to tourism.”
Zannettou congratulated and thanked "the services of the Municipality, especially the beach department and the Beach Inspector of the Municipality Demetris Pateras, who work every day with zeal and dedication, so that there are these positive results every year that contribute the most to the positive image of the Municipality and to upgrading the tourist product of Ayia Napa.
He also congratulated Ayia Napa Marina, which, for the second consecutive year, obtained a Blue Flag in the category for Marinas, saying this, “proves in practice the efforts to promote the quality and unique product they offer."
According to a relative announcement, the awarded beaches are the following:
Konnos, Limnara, Ammos tou Kampouri, Glyko Nero, Pantachou, Loukkos tou Manti, Katsarka, Pernera, Vathia Gonia, Nissi, Nissi Bay, Landa, Makronissos, Ziaji, Louma, and Ayia Thekla.
